How I Can Make a Difference Beyond High School.
There are many things i can do to make a difference beyond high school. First, donation. Donation is one of the easiest and simple thing you can do to help the others. By donating for people who live in Africa and other poor countries they will have food to live and also education for the future. I think donation is one of the best ways to help the people that need desperately need help. Second, volunteer for every campaign you see. I think we are sometimes selfish because there are many things we don’t do because we think there are other people doing it instead of me. But if we really care about them we have to be a leader to lead the people. If we start helping and volunteer for every events, people around you will start following you and realize the importance of community service.
The Importance of Community Service,
There are many reasons why community service is important. First it is good for you and people who are getting helped. By helping people we can reduce stresses and also be a lot healthier. After going to this lucrative trip all of my stresses were gone. Second, it unites people. After this trip i had an opportunity to talk to people whom i didn’t really know. Third, it gives you a responsibility. Responsibility is important because we need it to live with our life. Responsibility is one of the most important thing you need to have to live a effective life. Fourth, It gives you confidence. After this trip i gained more confidence and view the world in a positive way. For example;orphanage. Last year, i went to the orphanage to help the children who are living there. After helping them i’ve learned a valuable lesson which is to thank the life we got and to think positively.
What I Learned/Felt on Day 2
Second day was very special because it was my first time doing scuba diving. I've learned a lot from day 2. First, I've learned the importance of coral reef. When we first got there the instructor taught us about coral reef and why we need it. The instructor told us that the fish need the coral reefs to live, otherwise they will not have enough food and end up dying. After learning about the coral reef, i was motivated to help and was ready to sacrifice myself for the ocean. Second, I've learned that teamwork is very important. While helping them planting the coral reef we separated our work and worked as a team which was the most efficient way to do. While working on it, we relied on each other and finished faster than we've thought. After working on this project we grade 12 got a most valuable lesson which is friendship.
What We Did on Day 2,
We woke up at 7 and had a breakfast which was delicious. After eating breakfast we got prepared to go to the beach. The reason why we went to the beach is to plant the coral reef. When we got to the place the instructor took us to the building and taught us about the reef and the importance of it. After that we got prepared for scuba diving. We had to wear life vest and the goggles. After getting prepared for scuba diving we got into the water and spent time looking under the water. While swimming in the sea we saw many fish and also coral reefs that were planted long time ago. Most of us had lots of fun. After that we came back to the camp to take a shower.
What I Learned/Felt on Day 1,
There are many things that came across my mind. First excitement. I was waiting for this trip from the beginning of the semester. I really wanted to go somewhere with my friends and have a lot of time together. I really had fun and want to go there again if i have a chance. Second, gratitude. Before going to the orphanage i wasn't satisfied with my life and always were complaining about it. But after going to the orphanage and spending time with the children, i started to thank my parents for the education i get and the environment i have. The moral lesson i got from day 1 is appreciation. I’ve learned how to share and how to work together as a team.
